Henry Lloyd-Hughes (born 1985) is a British actor known for his range and his ability to play both charming and unsavory characters with equal conviction. Born in London into a theatrical family, he began his career in the mid-2000s. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Mark Donovan, the school bully in the hit sitcom "The Inbetweeners." Despite playing a menacing antagonist, his performance was integral to the show's dynamic and success. Lloyd-Hughes proved his dramatic versatility with his role as Ralph Whelan in the sumptuous period drama "Indian Summers." Playing the ambitious Private Secretary to the Viceroy of India, he delivered a nuanced performance of a man torn between duty, ambition, and secret desires. The role expanded his profile significantly as a leading man. He continued to take on challenging roles, playing the villainous tech mogul Aaron Peel in the second season of "Killing Eve." He also starred as Sherlock Holmes in the supernatural series "The Irregulars," offering a darker, drug-addled interpretation of the famous detective. Lloyd-Hughes is also a writer and has a passion for cricket, which he explored in his work. He is an actor who refuses to be typecast, moving effortlessly between comedy, period drama, and modern thrillers. Henry Lloyd-Hughes is one of the most interesting actors of his generation in the UK. His choices demonstrate a desire to explore complex, often flawed masculinity. He brings an intelligence and a specific intensity to his work that sets him apart.
