Clayton Cooper: biographie, films et séries, crédits

Erik Estrada (born 1949) is an American actor and cultural icon who defined the image of the motorcycle cop for a generation. Born in East Harlem, New York, of Puerto Rican descent, he grew up with dreams of being a police officer. Fate intervened, and he found his way into acting, making his film debut in "The Cross and the Switchblade." Estrada skyrocketed to fame as Officer Francis "Ponch" Poncherello in the hit TV series "CHiPs" (1977–1983). With his flashing smile, tight uniform, and cool demeanor, he became an international sex symbol and the breakout star of the show. "Ponch" was one of the first Latino lead characters on American television to be portrayed as a hero rather than a stereotype. Following the end of "CHiPs," Estrada found success in the world of telenovelas, starring in the massive hit "Dos Mujeres, Un Camino." He also became a reality TV staple and a familiar face in cameos, often embracing his pop culture status with humor. In a case of life imitating art, Estrada eventually fulfilled his childhood dream by becoming a real-life reserve police officer, focusing on protecting children from internet predators. Erik Estrada is more than just a TV star; he is a trailblazer for Latino actors in Hollywood. His charisma and enduring popularity have kept him in the public eye for over four decades.
